Margaret Tembo is a Zambian female boxer with a vision of lifting the country onto the continental stage and has a promising future. Tembo boasts many successful battles, medals, and awards to her name, including a gold medal, among other achievements, making her one of Zambia's first female African champions, along with Felistus Nkandu. In 2020, she won the Amateur International Boxing Association (AIBA) award for the best female boxer. The young sensational boxer is part of the boxing team that has traveled to Senegal for the Dakar Olympic Qualifiers. She earned the prestigious medal in the women's under-48kg class at the 2022 Africa Boxing Championship in Mozambique last year. Margaret currently holds the African Champion title in the light flyweight boxing category. A few days ago, Margaret Tembo was shortlisted to compete in the Featherweight category in Dakar, Senegal for the 2024 Olympic Qualifiers and is currently in the host country.
