ZESCO United, Red Arrows, and Zanaco Football Club have joined forces to host a thrilling Four-Club tournament set to take place in the Copperbelt province from August 5 to August 7, 2023. The tournament will showcase the talents of some of Zambia's finest football teams and will serve as crucial preparations ahead of the upcoming 2023/24 Zambian Super League season. Kafubu Stadium in Luanshya will witness Saturday and Sunday fixtures, while the Levy Mwanawasa Stadium is the chosen venue for Monday's games. The tournament will adopt a round-robin format, with each of the four teams competing against one another to determine the ultimate champion of the competition. ZESCO United's Chief Executive Officer, Charles Kalala, emphasized the significance of the tournament, stating, "This is a very important tournament for all the stakeholders involved. The season ahead will be very competitive with the Zambian teams aiming to get back to continental football next season. As such, this tournament provides the best platform for teams to assess themselves in readiness for the upcoming football season." Red Arrows' Chief Executive Officer, Lt. Col. Bruce Milunga, echoed the sentiments, calling the tournament an integral part of their pre-season preparations. Additionally, Zanaco FC's Chief Executive Officer, Modest Hamalabbi, expressed their delight in participating, emphasizing how it will help their coach test new players and gear up for the 2023/2024 season.
