Napsa Stars have confirmed the departure of assistant coach Sipho Mumbi, who has joined Nkana FC in a similar role. Mumbi, who also played for Napsa during his playing days, has been an important part of the club's history. In a statement released on Tuesday, Napsa said, "Coach Sipho has a special history with Napsa Stars FC, having also played for the team before retiring in 2015. He was part of the memorable 2012 squad that clinched the Barclays Cup by defeating Power Dynamos FC. Additionally, he contributed to the team's remarkable journey to the Group stage in its first-ever continental appearance in 2021 and played a role in the coaching staff that guided the team to ABSA Cup glory in 2022." Mumbi's departure is a blow to Napsa, but the club wished him well in his new role at Nkana. "We express our heartfelt appreciation for Coach Sipho's contributions and wish him the very best in his new role," the statement said. Meanwhile, Napsa has also confirmed the departure of Jimmy Mukeya, who has moved to Kansanshi Dynamos on a season-long loan. Mukeya is a promising young player who is looking to get more playing time.
