FC Muza remains the only unbeaten team in the MTN Super League, despite the Mazabuka side balancing their domestic league and CAF Confederation League commitments. Muza FC made a strong impression last season, finishing second in the league and qualifying for the CAF Confederation League. They also reached the finals of the ABSA CUP, where they unfortunately lost to Forest Rangers. This remarkable achievement generated a lot of discussion, as Muza had just been promoted to the Super League and accomplished so much in their first year. Muza's campaign in the CAF Confederation League started well with a 1-1 away draw against Cano Sport of Equatorial Guinea in the first leg of the preliminary round, followed by a convincing 3-0 win at home in the second leg. However, their chances of progressing to the group stage became slim after a 2-1 home defeat to Diables Noir of Congo Brazzaville in the second round of the CAF preliminary round. They suffered a 2-0 loss in Congo Brazzaville, ultimately exiting the tournament. Despite their demanding schedule in the CAF Confederation League, Muza FC has maintained an unbeaten record, having secured 4 draws and 3 wins in their 7 games. This places them third in the league standings, just one point behind leaders Zesco United. Andrew Phiri has been instrumental in Muza's unbeaten run, scoring in nearly every game. He currently leads the team as their top goal scorer with 4 goals in the league. Muza's squad primarily consists of young players who have been with the team for some time. This has fostered a strong understanding among them and they play as a cohesive unit. Their fighting spirit has also proven valuable as they have come from behind on numerous occasions this season. Their upcoming match against the legendary Mufulira Wanderers will undoubtedly be a tough one. Mufulira Wanderers have also had a successful season so far, recently defeating Nkana 2-1 and currently sitting in sixth place on the league table. Despite the challenge, Muza FC remains confident in maintaining their unbeaten streak. A victory in this game would propel them to the top of the league, signaling to the rest of the teams that they are serious contenders for the title.
