Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) President, Andrew Kamanga, officially opened the newly rehabilitated DK Stadium in Chipata on Saturday morning. In his speech, Kamanga expressed gratitude to FIFA for providing the funds for the rehabilitation project and to the Zambian government for its unwavering support. He also urged local contractors to maintain transparency in the tender process to uphold credibility. The FAZ President emphasized his delight in providing the people of the Eastern Province with a facility capable of hosting premier league matches. Additionally, he expressed his desire to schedule an international match at the stadium for junior teams, allowing provinces outside of Lusaka and the Copperbelt an opportunity to witness their beloved players in action. The $300,000 rehabilitation project has significantly transformed the stadium, evident through the installation of a new pitch, the repair of all damages, and the improvement of drainage. The opening of the DK Stadium marks a positive milestone for Zambian football, guaranteeing increased opportunities for players and fans in the Eastern Province.
