Zambian international Edward Chilufya played 71 minutes for Swedish champions Häcken in a 4-0 loss against German side Bayer Leverkusen in the UEFA Europa League match played at BayArena in Germany last evening. Chilufya joined the Swedish champions on loan from Danish top-flight side Midtjylland, and he will be the only Zambian player playing in the Europa League this campaign. It was a tough matchday one for Zambian players in European competition, with Miguel Chaiwa's Young Boys losing 3-1 to RB Leipzig of Germany, and Kings Kangwa's Red Star Belgrade losing 3-1 to defending champions Manchester City of England in the UEFA Champions League on Tuesday. This was Chilufya's second match with Häcken after joining them, having come on as a second-half substitute in the league in a 3-2 win over Halmstad on September 17 to make his debut for Häcken. Despite the loss, Chilufya will be hoping to get more playing time at Häcken and help the team achieve their goals for the season.
