Yet another clash between the two teams has arrived. In their previous meetings, Sundowns won 1-0 in the semifinals in September 2021, but Buffaloes got their revenge by winning in a shootout in the 2022 finals. In the COSAFA Qualifiers for the CAF Women's Champions League, champions Green Buffaloes are set to face off against Mamelodi Sundowns once again. The match is scheduled to kick off at 15:30 on Wednesday, 6th September 2023, at the Sugar Ray Xulu Stadium in Durban. Green Buffaloes secured their spot in the semifinals by finishing second in Group A, while Mamelodi Sundowns emerged as the winners of Group B after three rounds of matches. This upcoming match marks the third encounter between these two teams in the tournament, which serves as a qualifier for the CAF Women’s Champions League. The winners of the tournament will earn the opportunity to represent the region at the 2023 CAF Women's Champions League, which will be held in Ivory Coast in November.
