For the first time ever, the Kitwe Derby between Nkana FC and Power Dynamos will be held at the 60,000-seater National Heroes Stadium in Lusaka. Nkana Football Club has confirmed this development, with tickets set to go on sale soon. Nkana will play their last home game in Lusaka before returning to Nkana Stadium in the Copperbelt, following a ban that forced them to play their opening matches of the 2023/24 season 60 kilometers from their home ground, due to the hooliganism behavior of their fans last season in the Kitwe Derby away to Power Dynamos at Arthur Davies Stadium in Kitwe. The 13-time Zambian champions, Nkana, have been using Woodlands Stadium for their home matches and have struggled to record any wins this campaign. They will be hoping that their last game in Lusaka will be a memorable one, especially against a Power Dynamos side that is still searching for its first win away from home this season in all competitions after playing six games away from home, losing three, drawing three, and only scoring on three occasions. The Kitwe Derby is one of the most exciting seasonal fixtures in Zambian football, and the match being hosted at a bigger venue will be a plus for Lusaka fans who will attend the match. Heroes Stadium can accommodate more people than Nkana and Arthur Davies Stadium combined. It will also work to the advantage of Nkana as the match will be their last as a home team, which will see them have fans present. Their return to Nkana Stadium means they will be playing their games without fans, according to the punishment imposed on them by the Football Association of Zambia Disciplinary Committee. The match will take place on 12th November 2023, on a Sunday, with kick-off set for 15:00 GMT.
