Andrew Kamanga, the President of the Football Association of Zambia (FAZ), emphasizes the significance of adequately preparing for the Ivory Coast 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualification. Zambia finished as Group H winners with 13 points. While expressing his happiness with the team's performance, Kamanga highlights the need to ensure that Zambia is well-prepared for the AFCON final tournament, scheduled for January next year. In his weekly column, 'President's Corner,' Kamanga reassures that they will take a prudent approach to prepare the Chipolopolo adequately for the upcoming AFCON. The technical bench has been directed to create a preparation program that will be shared with key stakeholders, including the government. "We also have to take cognizance of the efforts of the players and technical bench for their tireless efforts to realize the target of AFCON qualification. We are happy to conclude the campaign as table toppers. However, beyond this point, it will be more important to make the qualifications count and prepare adequately," he said. Kamanga further adds that the association will not get tired of ensuring that the team's preparations for the incoming 2024 AFCON are of quality.
