Kabwe Warriors came from a goal down to win 2-1 in the Kabwe derby against Prison Leopards over the weekend, to the delight of Warriors' head coach Numba Mumamba. Leopards opened the scoring through Landu Miete in the 28th minute, but their lead lasted only 10 minutes as Ocean Mushure leveled matters for Warriors in the 38th minute. The game looked to be headed for a draw until Field Kandela scored the winner in the 91st minute to give Warriors all three points. Speaking to the media after the match, Mumamba said that he was happy with his side's commitment after going down and coming back from a goal to win in a derby. "A very important victory in a derby," he said. "We played very well, we controlled the game. They went ahead, we fought back, and managed to win. I'm happy with the team's commitment." Kabwe Warriors' next league assignment will be at home against Zambia Police-sponsored side Nkwazi FC.
