The Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) and FredRobie Concept Zambia have officially entered into a sponsorship deal worth K1.5 million for the National Division One playoffs. This partnership, set to last for five years with the possibility of extension, is expected to bring significant benefits to all participating teams in the playoffs. As part of this collaboration, FAZ will assume responsibility for covering all expenses associated with the playoffs, including match organization, officiating fees, security, and other related costs. FAZ President Andrew Kamanga, during the signing ceremony, expressed his confidence that this sponsorship package would serve as a substantial incentive for many teams that often struggle to meet transportation and accommodation expenses during the playoffs. Kamanga outlined the details of the partnership, stating, "Under this agreement, FAZ will provide a total sum of K100,000 to clubs that qualify for the playoffs as recognition for winning their respective provincial leagues. We encourage them to allocate a portion of this funding towards their travel and accommodation expenses during the playoffs." He also emphasized FAZ's commitment to nurturing local talent through developmental leagues and their continuous search for sponsorships to support lower leagues that have long faced financial challenges. Stanley Kasiya, the Chief Executive Officer of FredRobie, described the agreement as a reinforcement of the company's dedication to the development and promotion of football in Zambia, specifically the National Division One playoffs. Kasiya announced that FredRobie and FAZ would jointly undertake the responsibility of managing and soliciting sponsorships for the Division One playoffs starting from 2024 and beyond. He emphasized that they firmly believed sponsorships played a pivotal role in the sustainability and advancement of football, as they had observed in industrially developed nations. He explained that, with the support of their partners, they would make extensive efforts to secure sponsorships that not only improved the overall experience for players, officials, and spectators but also provided a stable foundation for the prosperity of the Division One playoffs. He further added, "We will explore various avenues to maximize exposure and establish meaningful partnerships that will contribute to the long-term success of the Division One playoffs. We are fully committed to this partnership and will collaborate closely with FAZ to ensure the playoffs receive the attention, resources, and management they rightly deserve by engaging both private and public sector entities in the economy."
