Rehabilitation works at the Levy Mwanawasa Stadium in Ndola have been completed, awaiting certification from the Federation of International Football Association (FIFA) ahead of the FIFA World Cup qualifier against Congo Brazzaville on November 17. CAF had previously barred Zambia from using its two largest stadiums, Heroes Stadium in Lusaka and Levy Mwanawasa Stadium on the Copperbelt, due to the poor condition of these facilities. The renovation works at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium on the Copperbelt have now been concluded, with a focus on improving the dressing rooms and constructing a new shelter for the technical area. Zambia is eager to qualify for the FIFA senior men's World Cup for the first time. To achieve this, they will have to compete against teams such as Morocco, Congo Brazzaville, Tanzania, Niger, and Eritrea in Group E. The Chipolopolo Boys will have the privilege of hosting Congo Brazzaville at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium on the Copperbelt for their inaugural match of the 2026 FIFA World Cup Qualifier on November 15, 2023.
