Zambia Chipolopolo Boys Coach Avram Grant has expressed his satisfaction with his side's performance in their 1-0 defeat to Egypt in a friendly match on Thursday. Zambia went down to a last-minute header from Hamdi Fathi, but Grant was pleased with the way his team performed against a strong Egyptian side. "I think it was a good performance," Grant said in a post-match interview. "We played against a good team on paper, not only on paper, with a superstar, one of the best in the world (Mohamed Salah), and we shut him down. He didn't do anything." Grant was also impressed with the chances Zambia created in the game. "We created good chances," he said. "Kings Kangwa missed a big chance, Fashion Sakala made a good chance. But I'm happy, it was a good test for us, a good test for everybody. Even on paper, they are much better than us, but it's still on paper." Grant also praised the performance of goalkeeper Francis Mwansa, who was making his debut for the national team. "Lot of positives to take from the Egypt game," Grant said. "We had a goalkeeper who was playing his first game with the national team, Francis Mwansa, and he did very well. Local players did very well, even if the league is not like the league in Europe, let's be honest. Chanda, Benedict, they all did very well. Very positive about this." When asked about the lack of playing time for Clatous Chota Chama, Grant explained that the midfielder didn't have enough time to train with the team before the game. "Fans always ask about players who don't play," Grant said. "I talk about players who play, but in this case, Chama didn't even train. He came in the last training session. But we concentrate on players who played and we are happy that we have a good bench also. We saw it yesterday. Players who did play in the first eleven did well." Zambia will next play Uganda in a friendly match on Tuesday.
