Defending champions Zambia have been drawn in Group B for the HOLLYWOODBET COSAFA 2023 Championship, which will be held in Boksburg, Gauteng, South Africa from October 4 to 15. Zambia will face Mozambique, Angola, and Comoros in Group B. Record winners South Africa are in Group A with Malawi, Madagascar, and Eswatini. Group C comprises Namibia, Botswana, Lesotho, and former champions Zimbabwe. The regional tournament has seen four countries win in the last 10 editions, with South Africa winning it seven times. Zimbabwe won in 2011, Tanzania won in 2021 as a guest participant, and Zambia won last year and is the current defending champion. The draw was conducted in Johannesburg on Tuesday, and the tournament is expected to be a closely contested affair. Zambia will be looking to defend their title, but they will face stiff competition from South Africa, who is always a strong side in this tournament.
