Chipolopolo national team doctor, Dr. Wesley Ngongo, has announced that Stopilla Sunzu has recovered from his right eye pain and headache. Dr. Wesley has confirmed that Sunzu will participate in the international match between Zambia and Uganda on 17th October 2023. Dr. Wesley provided an update on Sunzu's condition in the Chipolopolo medical update. He explained that Sunzu's injury occurred after an international friendly between Egypt and Zambia in Abu Dhabi on 12th October 2023. "During the later stages of the game against Egypt on the 12th, he sustained some blunt trauma to his head and immediately complained of a headache and pain in his right eye. He had difficulty seeing through his right eye, so he was rushed to the hospital where several tests were conducted. Fortunately, no structural damage was detected. However, he was advised to rest and given painkillers," said Dr. Wesley. Stoppila Sunzu is Chipolopolo's defender who played a crucial role in Zambia's victory in the AFCON 2012 Final match against Ivory Coast through penalty kicks. Sunzu has now resumed some light training, including the final training session held on 16th October 2023. The national team doctor has declared him fit for tomorrow's match against Uganda.
