The Copper Queens are facing an all-or-nothing affair in their Cosafa title defense as they take on Comoros today in what promises to be a tough encounter for Zambia. Zambia needs a win to finish top of Group B and book a place in the semifinals of the competition. Zambia, who are second in the group with 4 points, are level on points with Mozambique, who are top of the group, with Angola in third position with 3 points and Comoros at the bottom with zero points. However, Zambia going up against a Comoros side that has nothing to lose is what makes Zambia's task in today's game difficult. Comoros have lost their opening two matches and will be looking to end their Group matches with something to show for their participation in this year's tournament. With the changes made to the format of the competition, three group winners from the three groups progress to the semifinals of the competition, with the best second-placed team from one of the groups joining in as the best loser. The Copper Queens side of locally-based players had a tough outing in their opening fixture against Mozambique, which ended 0-0, but looked to be a completely different side in their second game against Angola, winning 3-1. However, today's encounter will be a different ball game, especially since the team is lacking much-needed experience, with 15 unproven talents on the international stage in the squad of 23. Assistant coach Florence Mwila will have to be at her best to get the best out of her players. The match will kick off at 12:00hrs local time, at the same time Mozambique will be playing Angola in another Group B fixture.
