Chipolopolo Boys striker Francisco Mwepu continued his fine scoring form for his Spanish side Atlético Sanluqueño, scoring the third goal in a 3-2 win over Linares Deportivo in a Round of 12 fixture played on Sunday in the Primera Federación Group 2. Mwepu, who made his senior national team debut in a 3-0 win over Uganda in an international friendly played in the UAE last month, was left out of the 25-man national team squad by coach Avram Grant ahead of the World Cup qualifiers opener this coming Friday. However, that did not stop the young striker from continuing his fine form with the lower league Spanish side, where he has so far scored seven goals in 12 games this season after arriving on loan from La Liga side Cádiz in August this year. Mwepu is currently the league's top scorer with his seven goals, and he will be hoping to continue scoring goals as he matures into a complete striker. The 23-year-old younger brother of former national team skipper Enock Mwepu will be hoping to make his return to the national team set-up after making his debut last month.
