Copper Queens Coach Bruce Mwape has hinted at possible squad rotations ahead of the international friendly game against Switzerland, set to take place this Friday in Switzerland. Zambia recently played their first friendly match in a series of three international friendlies in Europe, suffering a 3-2 defeat against Ireland in Dublin. This Friday, they will face Switzerland before their encounter with Germany on July 7th in Germany. Following these matches, the team will head to the World Cup, co-hosted by Australia and New Zealand next month. Speaking before the team's departure at Nuremberg Airport, Coach Mwape expressed his intentions, saying, "In the game against Switzerland, we are preparing for the World Cup, so we want to see more players involved. In the last game against Ireland, it was our probable team, but in this game, we want to try other players to participate in these friendly matches." Furthermore, Mwape emphasized the importance of having the full squad available, stating, "It's good to have the full squad. We want to give the four players who joined yesterday some game time." Regarding the announcement of the final squad for the World Cup, Coach Mwape stated, "I think after this Friday's game against Switzerland, we will be able to announce the team that will go to the World Cup." Midfielder Ireen Lungu, one of the four players who recently joined the camp, expressed her excitement, saying, "It feels awesome to join the team, and I expect us to work together and support one another." Lungu emphasized the team's need to work collectively, utilizing the chances they create in the game against Switzerland, to gain momentum for the final preparation game against Germany. "I will work hard and show the coaches that I deserve to be in the final squad going to the World Cup," added Lungu confidently.
