Elite Ladies FC midfielder Comfort Selemani, who has replaced the ill Grace Chanda in the World Cup squad, made her dream debut for the senior national team during Zambia's send-off match against Tanzania played at Woodlands Stadium last month on June 11th. The 18-year-old prodigy came on as a substitute and scored the decisive goal in the 69th minute, leading Zambia to a 1-0 victory. Speaking in an interview with Zed Sport after the match, an elated Selemani expressed her joy and excitement, stating, "I am very happy; I wasn't expecting it because this was my first game with the senior team. I am very excited." Despite her fantastic debut, Selemani remained humble and focused on securing her place in the World Cup squad. "I just have to work hard; this is when I am gaining experience. I have to keep working hard in the upcoming friendly games so that I can find myself in the team going to the World Cup," she said. With the illness of Grace Chanda, Selemani, who was recently promoted from the U-17 national team to the Copper Queens Squad, has been allowed to make a positive contribution to the team at the World Cup.
