Prison Leopards FC returned to training yesterday, but their head coach, Chris Kaunda, was notably absent, as reports suggest he has resigned from his position. Following a recent 1-0 loss to Nkana at the President Stadium, the Correct Boys have redirected their focus towards their upcoming challenge. A source within the club said that assistant coach Collins Mulenga will temporarily take charge of the team, just as he did in their previous match. Despite no official announcement, it is rumored that Kaunda stepped down less than two weeks after his one-year appointment as head coach, possibly due to disagreements with the club's executive board regarding player preferences. Kaunda's debut match in charge was against Mutondo Stars, resulting in a 3-2 loss at the Arthur Davies Stadium. Kaunda now follows Albert Kachinga as the second coach to resign at Prison, and the team currently finds itself in the relegation zone, occupying 16th place with only six points from nine matches played. The Correct Boys have secured one victory, three draws, and suffered five losses so far. Their next challenge awaits against FC Muza on Saturday, the sole unbeaten team in the league.
