Barbra Banda
Barbra Banda, who faced disqualification from the 2022 Women's Africa Cup of Nations due to gender eligibility issues, remains uncertain about her participation in the upcoming WAFCON in 2024. This followed her absence from the 2022 WAFCON, as the Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) claimed she did not meet the Confederation of African Football (CAF) criteria, which are distinct from FIFA's rules. Despite this, CAF President Patrice Motsepe expressed ignorance regarding FAZ's claims. FAZ President Andrew Kamanga emphasized that they follow CAF's requirements for gender tests and that only CAF can determine Banda's eligibility. Racheal Kundananji also faced the same issue. As Zambia prepares for their WAFCON qualifying campaign against Angola on November 27, 2023, Banda and Kundananji are expected to lead the team's attack, just as they did in the 2022 WAFCON qualifying campaign. The 2024 WAFCON is scheduled for July in Morocco.
