Three of the top 10-ranked teams have been knocked out in the group stage of this Women's World Cup. That only shows the level at which women's football has improved, and so many changes were added to the tournament, including pitch rules and the prize money, which was increased to give even more motivation to the teams that qualified. FIFA and FIFPro raised the bar for the women in this tournament. This has brought more competition and made it even more interesting. Brazilian captain Marta also had her last appearance at the tournament as she retires from football. Her team was knocked out in the first stages of the tournament. A farewell to the Brazilian player and wish her the best in her future ventures.
