Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) President, Andrew Kamanga, has called on clubs in the Zambian Premier League to improve their infrastructure ahead of the 2023/2024 season. In his weekly presidential column, Kamanga stated that inspections for clubs in the top flight are currently underway, and he expects clubs to act on the recommendations being put forth. "Understandably, this is not a one-day job, but we must be able to improve our infrastructure," Kamanga said. "We also anticipate that there will be fewer incidents of crowd trouble in the upcoming season." Kamanga also mentioned that FAZ is working with Power Dynamos and MUZA to ensure that they have the opportunity to play their home matches at their respective stadiums. "Matters of safety and security are now a priority for CAF/FIFA matches," Kamanga explained. "We hope that with the recommendations made by CAF, we may be able to host CAF matches in the short term as we work towards the long-term plan of rehabilitating our stadiums for international matches." The 2023/2024 season is scheduled to begin on August 19.
