Minister of Youth, Sport and Arts, Hon. Elvis Nkandu, recognized and commended Felistus Nkandu, who won bronze after losing to Cynthia Ogunsemilore Temitayo of Nigeria in the semifinal of the Road to Paris 2024 Olympic Games qualifying tournament. "During the gold medal presentation by World number 4 in his category, Patrick Chinyemba, held at our office, we were delighted to meet yet another country's profound female boxer, Felistus Nkandu, whom most of you asked questions about whether she is our daughter," the minister said. Meanwhile, Mashekwa Nalumango, Vice President of the Zambian Boxing Federation, confirmed that Felistus Nkandu could not make it to the finals of the Road to Paris 2024 Olympic Games qualifying tournament held in Dakar, Senegal, due to her shoulder injury after defeating Tunisia's Islem Ferchich in the semifinals. "And yes indeed, we can confirm Felistus Nkandu as one of our athletes. We continue to wish her a quick recovery," Hon. Elvis concluded.
