Zambian forward, Justin Shonga, scored a 95th-minute equaliser to salvage a point for FC Gagra in a 2-2 draw against Samgurali in the Georgian top-flight on Monday afternoon. This goal marked Shonga's first competitive goal for Gagra since joining the club on July 11th, 2023. Gagra is currently placed ninth in the 10-team table with 23 points from 28 matches. They sit 15 points clear of the automatic relegation spot and eight points away from avoiding a relegation playoff. Shonga had a successful campaign last season with the Zambian side, Nkwanzi FC, scoring double digits in less than 20 games as they narrowly avoided relegation. The 26-year-old is hopeful that his goal against Samgurali can ignite a stronger second half of the season for Gagra. Although they are still at risk of relegation, Shonga's late heroics have given them a glimmer of hope.
