FC Muza displayed a dominant performance as they secured a 4-0 victory over their local rivals, Green Eagles, in the "Musanza Derby." This win propelled them to the top of the MTN FAZ Super League table. The match took place on Sunday afternoon at Independence Stadium in Choma. In the 10th minute, Green Eagles found themselves reduced to 10 men after Shapi Chikondi received a second yellow card for bringing down FC Muza midfielder Solomon Mpasela on the edge of the 18-yard box. Bobo Angwenya successfully converted the resulting free-kick, allowing Muza to gain an early lead. In the 43rd minute, Rickson Ng'ambi, a striker for the Zambia U-20 team, doubled FC Muza's advantage. During the second half, Andrew Phiri, a substitute, scored an additional goal for Muza before Ng'ambi secured his second goal of the day. Following this victory, FC Muza now sits at the top of the league table with 9 points from five games, sharing the same point total as Power Dynamos. However, Power Dynamos relinquished a 2-0 lead and ended up with a 2-2 draw against 10-man Zesco United. FC Muza, along with Power Dynamos and Kansanshi Dynamos, are the only three teams in the league yet to experience a defeat this season. This triumphant start to the campaign bodes well for Muza, and they will strive to maintain their excellent form in the upcoming matches.
