The Zambia Women's National Team has set up a new camp in New Zealand after a three-week training camp in Germany. The team played three international friendlies in Germany, including a win over two-time world champions Germany. Speaking after the first training session in New Zealand, midfielder Evarine Katongo said that the team is adjusting well to the weather. "We trained well today despite the weather being different from what we experienced in Germany. We are hoping to adjust to the weather soon as we still have more days before the tournament." Katongo also urged fans to support the team, saying that they are not here to just make up the numbers. "We know people expect a lot from us after our win over Germany. I urge them to continue supporting us as we work hard to compete and hopefully reach the final." Zambia will kick off their senior World Cup debut against 2011 world champions Japan on July 22nd.
