Nkana head coach Ian Bakala has said that the constant change to the starting line-up is the reason for his side's failure to record a win since he took over the mantle at Nkana FC. Bakala has been in charge of the club for the past four games, picking up 2 points and losing twice, extending the team's winless run to seven. Nkana have only drawn two games and lost five this campaign, scoring just two goals and are bottom of the table. "The way we planned did not work for us," Bakala said after their latest defeat to Mufulira Wanderers in week seven. "I think the challenge is that we have not yet settled on the starting eleven. Each game, I think, we are making changes. We are trying different players, but I think now we have seen what is happening." Bakala said that the 13-time Zambian champions have struggled to get the season going, but he feels that he now understands the challenge with his team. He pointed out the mental strength of the players as one of the contributing factors to the team's poor performance. "I think it's the mental strength of the players, but we just have to work with them since they are already here," Bakala said. "We need to work extra hard and start collecting points." Bakala said that he believes there has been a change in the team's performance in the four games he has been in charge, but he hasn't seen much improvement apart from mental strength, which he believes will improve. "I think there have been improvements apart from mental strength," Bakala said. "Just that some players are pushing and some are not, and that's where the challenge lies." Bakala hinted that there is a need to enforce the squad at Nkana, as some players don't play like players who deserve to represent the club.
