Zambian forward Fashion Sakala played a full match for his club Al-Fayha in their back-to-back league draw in the Saudi Professional League on Saturday evening. Al-Fayha surrendered a 1-0 lead to draw 1-1 with Al-Wehda in the Round 9 fixture. This was the second consecutive draw for Al-Fayha, who have only managed to win two matches from their opening nine matches, drawing five and losing twice. The draw leaves Al-Fayha in ninth place on the league standings with 11 points going into the FIFA international break. Al-Fayha took the lead in the 23rd minute through Nigerian international Henry Onyekuru, but their lead was cancelled out in the second half when the hosts levelled matters through Moroccan international Jawad El Yamiq in the 76th minute. Sakala will now be awaiting a short flight from Saudi Arabia to Dubai, where his Zambian counterparts will be heading for international friendlies against Egypt and Uganda. The match against Egypt is set for Thursday, October 12th, and the match against Uganda is scheduled to take place on October 17th. Sakala will be hoping to impress Zambia coach Avram Grant during the friendlies and earn a place in the starting lineup for the 2026 World Cup qualifiers, which are scheduled to kick off next month after missing out in the last international fixture against Comoros due to suspension.
