Zambia Super League defending champions, Power Dynamos, have been eliminated from the CAF Champions League after a 1-1 draw against Simba SC of Tanzania on Sunday afternoon. The result meant the tie ended 3-3 on aggregate, with Simba progressing to the group stages of the competition on the away goal rule. Power took the lead in the 17th minute through Congolese striker, Andy Boyeli, but Simba equalized in the 68th minute through an own goal from Linos Mwakwaza Jr. Power Dynamos had several chances to win the match in the second half, but they were unable to find the back of the net. The result is disappointing for Power Dynamos, who were hoping to make a deep run in the CAF Champions League this season. However, they can take heart from the fact that they were competitive against a strong Simba side. Now, Power Dynamos will focus on their domestic league campaign.
