The Zambia U20 women's national team was knocked out of the FIFA World Cup qualifying matches on the away goals rule yesterday, after drawing 2-2 with Congo in the first leg and 0-0 in the second leg. Copper Princesses striker Mary Mbewe expressed her disappointment over the elimination and the way forward for the team. "God prepared that we bow out in the second round, and we can't deny God's will. We had a lot of chances in the second half but couldn't score. As a result, we came under pressure in the second half," Mbewe said. Meanwhile, Lubasi Pumulo described the elimination as painful, as they wanted to win but couldn't score. "Going into both legs, Zambia had plenty of chances but couldn't convert. Everyone wanted to score and we were under pressure," Pumulo said. "We were too fast, and everyone wanted to score." Pumulo further added that winning the first game is very important and thanked the fans for the support they provided.
