Zambian midfielder Emmanuel Banda has issued a stern warning against underestimating the Chipolopolo Boys in the upcoming 2024 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) and the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers. Zambia concluded their AFCON qualification campaign with a 1-1 draw against Comoros, securing their place in the tournament for the first time since 2015. They edged ahead of Ivory Coast on goal difference in Group H. In an interview with FAZ Media, Banda described their qualifying journey as a resounding success that had sent a strong message across the continent. "The entire campaign has been a success for the whole team and for the nation. Our sole objective was to reach AFCON, and we achieved that goal by topping the group as a united team," he said. Emmanuel emphasized the significance of topping the group and securing their spot in AFCON, expressing gratitude for the support they have received from their country. It is a feat they do not take lightly.
