The Copper Queens will face Angola in the second round of qualifiers for the 2024 Women's Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON). Zambia received a bye for the first round based on their third-place finish at the last WAFCON, while Morocco, who finished second, automatically qualified as hosts. Angola was drawn against Sudan for the first-round qualifiers but has been awarded a walkover after Sudan withdrew due to a lack of preparation. However, Zambia will have an opportunity to face Angola before the WAFCON second-round qualifiers, as the two sides were drawn in the same group at the 2023 COSAFA Senior Women's Championship to be played in South Africa from 4th to 15th October 2023. The WAFCON second-round qualifiers will be played in November/December. The winner over two legs will qualify for the 12-team tournament hosted by Morocco for the second time in a row in mid-next year. The Copper Queens are one of the strongest teams in Africa, and they will be hoping to qualify for the WAFCON and challenge for the title. Angola is a good team, but Zambia should be able to beat them over two legs.
