Zambia coach Avram Grant has named Fashion Sakala in his squad for the October friendlies against Egypt and Uganda. Sakala missed Zambia's final AFCON qualifier against Comoros due to suspension, but he makes a return to the squad for the two friendlies. Lameck Banda and Frankie Musonda are missing from the squad due to injuries. The two matches will be played in Dubai as part of Zambia's preparations for the November round of FIFA World Cup qualifiers. The technical bench has struck a balance between local and foreign-based players, with Sakala, who is based in Saudi Arabia, making a return. Zambia is preparing for the FIFA World Cup qualifiers in November, where they play Congo Brazzaville and Niger. Grant is also treating the qualifiers as a build-up for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations, which will be played in Ivory Coast in January. The draws for the Africa Cup of Nations will be held in Abidjan on 12th October.
