Newly formed Lusaka-based women's football team, ZedPro Sports Academy, recorded their first victory in the Lusaka Province Division One Women's League on Saturday afternoon with a 2-0 win over Misisi Football Club in round five of the league season. The match took place at Lusaka's Queensmead Stadium, and the home team, ZedPro, took the lead just after kick-off through former Serenje Queens Football Club attacker, Petronella Changwe, who slotted home past Misisi's goalkeeper from close range. Veronica Miti doubled the lead for the hosts, who looked determined to secure their first competitive victory since their establishment. The visitors tried to find their way into the match, but the much-resilient ZedPro Sports Academy defense was too solid for them to penetrate. ZedPro will be looking to build on their victory going forward as they aim to establish themselves in the league and strive for greater heights.
