Zambia beat Morocco 2-0 in a friendly match played in Rabat on Friday evening. The win was a good result for Zambia as they prepare for the COSAFA tournament and the Paris Olympic qualifiers. Coach Bruce Mwape was happy with his team's performance and said that the match was a good opportunity to assess the team's strengths and weaknesses. "I think today's game, we expected to have a tough task. I know Morocco is a very good side. We got to prepare for the COSAFA tournament, as well as the Paris qualifying games. This evening was a beautiful game; we were able to see our strengths and weaknesses, which were our main objectives. Our main aim is to build a team for the upcoming qualifying games and come up with one team," Mwape said. Morocco coach Reynald Pedros was disappointed with his team's performance but said that they will learn from their mistakes and improve in the next match. "It was a great game of great magnitude, and we give our opponents respect for the game tonight. It was a tough game, but we have to be more competitive. We are just coming from the World Cup, and this was our first serious assignment, and we have to play better," Pedros said. "We know that we lost all the games tonight, but we have a few days to prepare and perform well in the next game. It's the beginning of two friendlies, and this is a good challenge for us ahead of the next game on Tuesday," Pedros added. Zambia and Morocco will play again on Tuesday in the second friendly match.
