Avram Grant has made a winning start to his tenure as the coach of the Zambian national team, the Chipolopolo Boys. In his first four matches in charge, the team has recorded three wins and one draw, scoring nine goals and conceding just two. The results have been impressive, but it is the style of play that has caught the eye of fans and supporters. Grant has instilled a sense of unity and purpose in the team, and they now play with the passion and belief that has been lacking in recent years. One of the key factors in Grant's success has been his "three golden rules" for selection. Players must show quality, desire, and passion to be included in the team. This has resulted in several players missing out, but it has also led to selected players performing to their best abilities. The most notable example is Patson Daka, who has been in incredible form since Grant took over. The striker has been scoring goals for his country, something he had struggled to do with his club during the same period. Grant's impact has been so positive that he has even been credited with helping Zambia qualify for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations. The team had missed out on the previous three tournaments, but they are now among the 24 countries that have booked their place in the finals in Ivory Coast. With Grant at the helm, Zambian fans are now dreaming of a first-ever World Cup appearance. The qualifying campaign for the 2026 tournament begins in November, and the Chipolopolo Boys will be hoping to build on their recent success.
