Two promising Zambian youth coaches have successfully graduated from the FIFA/CAF Educators' Development Pathway course, hosted in Johannesburg. This program is tailored to nurture and develop local coach educators. Franklyn Malambo and Phillip Munkombwe, handpicked by FAZ, represented Zambia in this program, which served as a continuation of the FIFA Youth coaches program organized three years ago. Their selection was based on their outstanding performance in the local coach educators' program. The FIFA/CAF Coach Educators' Development Pathway is an extensive curriculum comprising over 150 hours of training, combining theoretical knowledge and practical experience closely linked to the fundamental competencies required for coach educators. Zambia was one of ten Southern African countries actively involved in this high-level initiative. The list of participating nations includes Botswana, Eswatini, Lesotho, Malawi, Mauritius, Namibia, Seychelles, South Africa, Zambia, and Zimbabwe. These countries had the privilege of learning from a panel of FIFA experts and technical specialists. Youth development remains a cornerstone of FAZ's 10-year strategic plan. Reuben Kamanga, the FAZ General Secretary, has reaffirmed FAZ's strong commitment to long-term football development by continuing to invest in coach education. In 2020, FAZ successfully conducted training for youth coach educators in all ten provinces, with Ndola and Lusaka selected as the hosting cities for these educational initiatives.
