Nkana FC suffered their sixth defeat of the season in a 3-1 loss to Nkwazi FC in the MTN FAZ Super League on Saturday. The defeat leaves Nkana in the relegation zone with just 6 points from 10 games played. Nkana recorded a rare 1-0 win last weekend against struggling Prison Leopards in Kabwe but failed to build on that victory as Nkwazi proved to be too good for them. The police-sponsored side took the lead in the 5th minute through a David Ngoma free-kick. Brian Masanyinga doubled their lead in the 22nd minute after capitalising on a Donashano Malama back pass. Nkana coach, Ian Bakala, made a triple substitution before half-time in an attempt to turn the game around, but it was to no avail. Nkwazi held on to their lead with a 2-0 scoreline at the break. The second half provided little goal action until the 92nd minute when Bob Chansa handled the ball in the box and Nkwazi were awarded a penalty. They converted the penalty through Peter Mwangani to make it 3-0. The penalty goal looked like the last goal for the day, but Nkana left it late to score one of their own through Lameck Kafwaya in the 97th minute, making it 3-1. Nkwazi will next host the unbeaten FC Muza, while Nkana will next host Power Dynamos in the Kitwe derby.
