Former Zambia National Team captain Enock Mwepu has congratulated the Chipolopolo Boys for qualifying for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations. On Twitter, Mwepu expressed his joy and stated that the team had prayed for this achievement and now their prayers have been answered. He further congratulated the team for making their country proud. Mwepu had to end his playing career early in October due to a health condition but joined Premier League club Brighton and Hove Albion in July 2021. Whilst travelling to join the national team during an international break, he fell ill and spent several days in a hospital in Mali before returning to Brighton for further tests. Zambia's impressive performance against Ivory Coast secured their return to the Africa Cup of Nations after an eight-year absence.
