Power Dynamos Coach Mwenya Chipepo remains confident, despite his side Power Dynamos giving up leads twice to draw 2-2 against Tanzanian outfit SC Simba, thanks to Zambian international Clatous Chota Chama who returned to Zambia to disappoint his fellow Zambians with his exceptional performance. MTN Super League defending champions, Power Dynamos, took the lead in the first half through Joshua Mutale in the 29th minute, ensuring that the Zambian side went into the break leading the CAF Champions League preliminary second-round first leg played at Levy Mwanawansa Stadium in Ndola. Changes made in the second half gave Simba some superiority advantage, as they had more experienced players on the team. Chama pulled them level just a few centimeters from the goal line as he pounced on a loose ball. However, Power managed to restore the lead through Cephas Mulombwa in the 75th minute. Power were reduced to ten men with Dominic Chanda receiving a direct red card, which was followed by Chama pulling Simba level again in additional time with a well-taken strike outside the box, leaving the keeper with no chance. However, speaking in a post-match interview, Chipepo said that he was disappointed not to win but proud of how his players played against a much more experienced side. "I am disappointed but proud of how my players played," he said. "These are young players. We are just building a team, and they did well against Simba, who has more experience in CAF football." Chipepo said that if Simba could score two goals in Zambia, Power Dynamos could also score goals in Tanzania, considering the number of chances the team created. "We are not under pressure. If Simba can score two goals, we can also go and score even three goals there," he said. Despite Chama's exceptional performance, Chipepo remains confident that Power Dynamos can progress to the next round of the CAF Champions League when they travel to Tanzania for the second leg.
