Power Dynamos Assistant Coach Songwe Chalwe believes that his side gave away a 2-0 lead and drew 2-2 against Zesco United on Sunday due to a failure to utilize chances created. Power went two goals up after Zesco United were reduced to 10 men following Ian Otieno's red card, with Austin Muwowo scoring from the resulting free-kick and Andy Boyeli doubling the lead just before the break. However, Zesco United managed to score two goals in the second half through Kelvin Kampamba and Abraham Siakombo. Speaking after the game, Songwe Chalwe said, "Definitely, we are very disappointed to give away a 2-0 lead and draw 2-2. I believe this is a game we could have won by more than 2, maybe even 6 or 7, but we didn't take advantage of our chances. And you know how football is, if you don't take your chances, you get punished, and we were definitely punished today. We were not aiming for a draw, we were aiming for a win. There were a lot of positives, it's just that our finishing let us down, but overall, I believe the team performed very well. We dominated the game, we just couldn't convert all the chances we had. If we had scored all those chances, it would have been a different story." Power's next fixture will be against Simba in the CAF Champions League return fixture in Tanzania, scheduled for Sunday, 1st October.
