Power Dynamos Die Hard
Mwenya Chipepo, the coach of Power Dynamos, has resigned, citing interference from the club's top management as the primary reason for his departure. Chipepo, who led Power to their seventh Super League championship last season, has stated that he is no longer responsible for the team's technical aspects. "I am no longer with the team, I have quit," Chipepo said, without providing further details. When pressed for more information, Chipepo expressed his feelings of being underappreciated, despite his extensive work over the past two years. "I did my best, but some officials still do not respect me, and there has been significant interference in team selection recently. Therefore, I have decided to step aside," he explained. Chipepo joined Power Dynamos in 2021, and when contacted, the club's CEO, Gibson Chaloba, insisted that Chipepo was still in charge. Chaloba stated that he had also heard about this from others, but no formal communication has reached his office yet, and as far as he knows, Chipepo remains their coach until they receive official notice. He took over from Masauso Tembo when the team was struggling but successfully stabilized the squad and secured the title last season. Chipepo's resignation marks the fourth coaching departure this season, following the exits of Ian Bakala, Albert Kachinga, and Chris Kaunda.
