Zambia striker Patson Daka proved the wisdom of national team coach Avram Grant's advice by delivering an impressive performance in a 3-0 victory against Ivory Coast. Daka, who had been advised by Grant before they departed for a week-long camp in South Africa, scored Zambia’s second goal three minutes into the second half. Serge Aurier's own goal in the 32nd minute and Kings Kangwa's strike in the 55th minute sealed the convincing win. Grant had emphasized to Daka that the best decision he could make for himself, following Leicester City's relegation from the English Premier League, was to perform well against Ivory Coast in the AFCON qualifiers. "The best decision Daka will make is to play well against Ivory Coast and score." Daka took this advice to heart and delivered an outstanding performance, playing a key role in Zambia's victory.
