Boxer Stephen Zimba, reflecting on his disappointing performance in Senegal at the Road to Paris 2024 Olympic Games Boxing Qualifying Tournament, has expressed his determination to bounce back stronger. Zimba faced an early exit from the tournament but vowed to put in the hard work required to secure a spot in the prestigious event taking place in France. One of the primary factors Zimba attributed to his early elimination was the lack of adequate preparation. He acknowledged the challenges faced by African boxers in comparison to those from regions with longer training camps, which made it difficult to produce the desired results. Despite these setbacks, Zimba remained resolute in his commitment to improve and qualify for the Paris 2024 Olympics. Zimba, who competed in the men's light middleweight category, faced a 3-1 defeat at the hands of Miguel Fernandes from Cape Verde. Despite this setback, his determination remained unshaken, and he affirmed his belief that he would return stronger and secure his qualification. In addition to Zimba, several other boxers, including Mwengo Mwale, Hilda Ng'andwe, Felistus Nkandu, Mary Mhango, Margaret Tembo, and Andrew Chilata, also fell short in their quest to secure tickets to the Paris 2024 Olympics.
