Chipolopolo Boys striker Fashion Sakala has said that Zambia is back and ready to compete for the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) ahead of the group draws this evening in Ivory Coast. Sakala, who plays his club football for Al-Fayha in Saudi Arabia and is speaking from the Chipolopolo base in Dubai, said that Zambia has good players and a strong team that is ready to face any opponent at the AFCON tournament. He added that they don't care which team they will be paired with because he believes that the team has performed well in recent games and can compete with any opponent. "We have a young squad with no big names, but we are determined to overcome any team that we face," Sakala said. "I must say we will definitely cause upsets at the tournament." Zambia missed the three previous editions of the tournament, and Sakala is excited that the country is returning to take part in the next tournament after working so hard to qualify. "We are so excited to have qualified for this tournament, a tournament which we have wanted for a long time," Sakala said. "Our squad is ready, we worked so hard for this qualification, and we are ready to face any team we will be drawn against." Zambia will be hoping for a favorable draw when the groups are announced this evening. The Chipolopolo Boys will be looking to make a big impact at the tournament and show that they are back as one of the forces to be reckoned with in African football.
