As part of the broader football development initiative, Reuben Kamanga, the General Secretary of the Football Association of Zambia, and Owens Buntele, the Head of Finance, are currently participating in a CAF governance workshop in South Africa. They are among a group of administrators representing various African countries who are undergoing this training. The Confédération Africaine de Football (CAF) is launching its inaugural CAF Governance and Finance Roadshow for all 54 Member Associations. This initiative aligns with the ambitious vision of CAF President Dr. Patrice Motsepe, aimed at enhancing the global competitiveness and financial sustainability of African football. CAF is leading this unique roadshow to guide its Member Associations in implementing effective measures to strengthen and enhance governance and financial structures within their respective associations. The three-day workshops will be supervised by CAF's Member Associations Division and Legal Affairs Division, bringing together General Secretaries and Finance Directors from each CAF Member Association over the coming months. The workshop, which is being hosted by South Africa, is being attended by Zambia, Lesotho, Botswana, Eswatini, Angola, Namibia, Seychelles, Mauritius, and Zimbabwe. During these workshops, various key governance and finance topics will be covered, including Good Governance Principles, FIFA-Recommended Statutes, tools for implementing best governance practices, and presentations on Zonal Union reforms, among others. Member Associations will also have the opportunity to exchange their operational methods and seek solutions to unique challenges with the support of CAF.
