Copper Queens striker Rachael Kundananji is determined to replicate her impressive club performance at the national team level. She aims to help Zambia advance past the group stage in the 2023 Women's World Cup. Kundananji recently became Zambia's first player to score 25 goals in the Women's Spanish League, narrowly missing out on the golden boot by three goals. Despite this setback, she is committed to coming back stronger and ensuring the Copper Queens' success in their debut World Cup appearance. In an interview on Kwhito FM's Yatu show, Kundananji opened up about the challenges she has faced throughout her career. Despite the perception that she has had an easy path, she acknowledged that many talented players are better than her. However, her relentless work ethic, unwavering commitment, and focus have propelled her forward. Kundananji emphasized that she has overcome obstacles and remains dedicated to her career. Kundananji also shared the difficulties she encountered while playing for Bllk Kazygurt in Kazakhstan, including facing racism. She described the mental toll it took on her and the struggle to concentrate amidst such adversity. However, she highlighted that her experience in Spain has been much better, with challenges mainly confined to the pitch. Kundananji expressed her ambition to play for Chelsea Football Club, considering it her dream club. She also cherished her match against Barcelona as the pinnacle of her career, citing the team's determination and collective effort.
