Power Dynamos emerged victorious over their bitter rivals Nkana FC in the highly-anticipated Kitwe Kopala derby with a 2-0 win, which puts them in a strong position to clinch the league title with just one point needed from their remaining three games. The match started well for Nkana FC, who dominated the majority of the first half, but they were unable to convert their chances into goals as the game went into the break with a 0-0 scoreline. The second half saw Nkana continue to dominate the game, looking for the three points that would increase their chances of finishing in the top two and securing a spot in continental football for next season. However, in the 76th minute, Andy Boyeli scored his 17th goal of the season, which turned the game on its head and sent the home crowd into a frenzy. Unfortunately, the celebrations were marred by ugly scenes as objects were thrown onto the field of play by the away fans, injuring the first assistant referee and a police officer. The game was halted for more than 20 minutes until it resumed. After the resumption, Power Dynamos showed their hunger for more goals, and substitute Mwepu found the back of the net in the 81st minute, doubling the lead for the home side. This victory puts Power Dynamos in a strong position to secure their first league title since 2011. It's becoming all too common in MTN FAZ SUPER LEAGUE matches to witness objects being thrown onto the pitch, which should never be the case in the beautiful game of football. It remains to be seen what punishment will be handed out to the culprits by the local football governing association. Overall, it was a tense and exciting game of football between two bitter rivals, with Power Dynamos emerging victorious and taking a step closer to securing the league title. However, the ugly scenes that marred the game serve as a reminder that there is no place for violence and unsportsmanlike conduct in the game of football. Photo Credit-Ministry Of Sports
