Zambian international Emmanuel Banda continues to impress Croatia, as he played a pivotal role in helping his team, HNK Rijeka, secure qualification for the UEFA Conference League next season. Following a 1-1 draw with Osijek, Banda's goal in the 31st minute scored directly from a corner, proved to be the decisive factor in securing the team's position on the table. Earlier this year, the 25-year-old midfielder left Swedish club Djurgardens IF, where he showcased his scoring prowess with 10 goals in 19 appearances. He then signed a two-and-a-half-year contract, with an option for an additional year, with HNK Rijeka. Since joining the Croatian squad, Banda has been instrumental in their success, contributing to their current tally of 49 points from 36 games. In his 19 appearances for Rijeka, Banda has scored two goals and provided two assists, averaging 45 minutes per game. His consistent performances have made him a key player for the team. Looking ahead, Banda will aim to replicate his outstanding form for the Zambian national team when they face Ivory Coast in a crucial AFCON qualification match at the Levy Mwanawasa Stadium in Ndola next month.
